McMechen News

Update from The Mayor and City Council

The Mayor and City Council offer the following update on the progress of 21st and 22nd Streets in McMechen.

On July 2nd, Mayor David Goddard met with the Marshall County Commissioners to address the problems and give a current status report of the area. County Commissions, in support of McMechen, has sent a letter to the governor requesting assistance. City Leadership has been working with engineers and has partnered with the WV Department of Highways to perform a final fix. During this time period (which will be announced later), there will be some inconveniences and significant Earth movement. While McMechen is “under construction”, there will be altered and temporary changes in traffic patterns. We will work diligently to keep the citizens updated on all changes along with all the progress. Remember: A little progress each day adds up to big results!

Please share this information as widely as possible to help us provide situational awareness to the entire community.

Thank you for your continued patience and support!
