McMechen Recreation

The City of McMechen is responsible for recreational and special event programming, facility operations and ground maintenance of existing facilities and city parks.

The purpose of the Recreation Committee is to engage citizens through constructive leisure activities. Our aim is for varied, enjoyable, year-round programs of interesting and fun-filled activities for all ages. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the city building.

Residents can enjoy playgrounds and basketball courts at our Riverview Shelter and near the Puddle (16th Street pool). Basketball and open grass are available at the 21st Street playground. 

Riverview Shelter rentals are available year round, while rental of the pool shelter for parties is during summer session only. 

We are pleased to announce gym time rental as well. The calendar below shows availability of all facilities. If interested in renting one of the city's facilities, please call the city building at 304-232-3140.
